Naqsh Layallpuri
The main attraction for me to write the songs for 'Taj Mahal - an eternal love story' was that it was a period film, there was scope for poetry and secondly I was writing for maestro Naushad Ali for the first time.
I was selected for this project purely on merits. I have done justice to the situations of the songs, I have worked to the full satisfaction of Akbar Khan and Naushad Ali.
Let my songs be released, they will speak of my worth.
I pray for the success of this film.
Syed Gulrez Rashid
"Taj Mahal Calls"! This is how writer - poet Syed Gulrez (son of renowned novelist Adil Rashid) felt when Akbar Khan called him in USA to pen the dialogues and lyrics for the movie of the century 'Taj Mahal - an eternal love story'.
Syed Gulrez who has written soulful songs for award winning film 'Kamala' and 'Ghazals' for the great Sufi sensation Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan's 'Salaam'. Besides hosting the most talked about radio talk show in Los Angeles and scripting more then a few Indo-Us projects, is back in Bombay with a promise of vibrant lines and soulful songs for none else than Akbar Khan. The charismatic maker and the creator of Taj Mahal.
This is how Gulrez feels about the film...
"Shahjahan took twenty years to carve his 'Taj' on earth whereas Akbar Khan's Taj Mahal promises to dwell the hearts of zillions for years to come. Love never Dies"
